Thank you! I’m enjoying this program more each day.
I’ve heard many great things about Kerbal
If you like space games it’s the one to get.
Is the game engine powerful enough to load all assets in an elaborate game at once and process them smoothly when called? Also what’s the limit?
There’s an Angry Birds style game in the gallery that can help answer this question. Also, my students discovered a different sort of limit when they went crazy adding numerous animated gifs to their games and brought them nearly to a standstill.
I have a game called Hide N Seek that has a lot of assets in it and runs fine, but takes a while to load
I also tried to make a fortnite type game on Ready but there was so many assets to where the app itself crashed every time I tried to load the game
I couldn’t find it but I think I’m good now
I tried it, pretty good load time for my phone. This helped thank you!
I’ve been really busy lately so I haven’t messed with it too much, but… Now you have a health bar and the power up is a force field that regenerates your shields when it consumes asteroids. But be careful because when it runs out you’ll be damaged again
Dude holy crap this is awesome! The shield power up has an amazing effect
Love seeing the game grow!
However when I first started the game, it already said game over and I hadn’t even started.
That’s because the asteroids begin spawning at scene start, so when the game first loads, inevitably an asteroid hits you and you die. I didn’t notice that until I started preparing lesson plans for my students. I decided for fun to add a countdown so you can get into position after pressing play, and on load it goes into idle state. This version is very stripped down relative to kenobi’s. It has the countdown but no powerups or leaderboard. (I’m in the process of adding a “level up” that makes it get harder when you achieve a time threshhold.)
It’s to simulate an arcade game.
Your game is improving with each update :
Thank you very much.
New ideas being implemented!!
Also does the leaderboard get transferred over with unity or is it obsolete after I have compiled an APK with unity?
Leaderboard is ready exclusive for now
Yeah, Leaderboard available only inside the “Ready Maker”.
I stumbled across a remix copy in case it’s helpful:
Oof. Thank you, I saw this when you posted it but I followed it and went right back to building. I don’t think I’m going to add much more to HyperDrive S. Maybe just make a bunch of fun little games and not get too elaborate with them yet.
Sounds good! Sometimes simpler is better. I hugely admire the complex games in the gallery, but honestly I sometimes wonder if the people who made them had a more sophisticated editor than the Ready app we use because for me after a certain project size or repeated edits the project breaks and nothing works anymore. For a small project I simply start over fresh, but for a large one I just give up.
